Located in one of the most spectacular locations in Israel, the University of Haifa campus continues to provide us with some astounding photographs. The change in weather this past week brought layers of white cloud that covered the campus like a feather blanket, and no location is better than the Sammy and Aviva Ofer observatory in the Eshkol Tower to get a view of the clouds over the campus from above. A new academic year

Approximately 18,000 students commenced their studies at the University of Haifa for the 2011-12 academic year. Some 10,000 students will study for their bachelor’s degrees; about 8,000 for master’s degrees and over 1,000 for doctoral degrees. “The University of Haifa continues to grow, develop and absorb new faculty members. We give particular attention to our students’ individual needs and this year we are registering a considerable rise in the number of students enrolled at the University” noted Prof. Aaron Ben-Ze’ev, President of the University.

This year there is a significant increase in student enrollment for all degrees. According to Prof. David Faraggi, Rector of the University, the growing trend to study in the applied fields is continuing this year. He noted, however, that there is also increasing interest in other fields such as art, literature, and multidisciplinary studies. Continue Reading »
