The University of Haifa adopted the bereaved families of the 121 IDF soldiers who fell in the Second Lebanon War and yesterday awarded 121 scholarships in their memory

d79ed79cd792d795d7aa1The bereaved families of the soldiers who fell in the Second Lebanon War gathered yesterday (Tuesday) at the University of Haifa in the frame of a unique and moving project that the University initiated to memorialize each of the 121 fallen soldiers of the war. “We are proud to adopt the bereaved families and grant 121 study scholarships in memory of their dear ones,” said Prof. Aaron Ben-Ze’ev, President of the University. The University of Haifa will award scholarships in memory of Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev

The University of Haifa will award scholarships in name of Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev as part of a moving and unique memorial scholarship grant in name of each of the 121 fallen IDF soldiers of the Second Lebanon War. The scholarships were donated by the Ima Foundation established by the Younes and Soraya Nazarian family, a leading family in the Jewish community of Los Angeles. Continue Reading »

Mole rats offer key to human cancer research, Israeli and US scientists discover

Genetic Mechanism In Mole Rats Can Be Targeted In Cancer Research

Researchers from the Institute of Evolution at the University of Haifa:

Cellular mechanisms that subterranean mole rats have developed in order to survive the low levels of oxygen in their underground habitat are similar to the mechanisms used by tumors to survive and progress in humans.
