Published by Editor at 9:43 am under University News

1094695_earthThe University of Haifa is joining the worldwide struggle against global warming and will participate in the international “Earth Hour” project. The University will black-out its facilities for an hour on Thursday at 8 pm, along with many other institutions in Israel and around the world.

The University, which was recognized as a “green” campus this year, joined the project out of deep commitment to the importance of the environment. Along with increasing the population’s awareness of the issue, the University takes many other steps toward energy and water saving and toward protecting the environment. Last year, the University initiated an academic course on preservation of the environment that is open to all its students and faculty.
